Same-Day Crowns – CEREC in Darmstadt

From preparation to ceramic crown – digitally, in our practice

Back to overview

Fitting several dental appointments into your schedule for a single crown rarely suits everyday life. With our digital CEREC technology, we can produce many restorations right here in our practice – often in just one appointment.

In the past, a dental crown often required several appointments: preparation, a conventional impression, a temporary crown, the dental laboratory and finally another appointment for fitting.

With modern CAD/CAM technology, we can now plan many ceramic restorations entirely digitally and produce them directly in our practice.

1. Digital scan

Once the tooth has been prepared, we capture the situation in three dimensions with a modern intraoral scanner.

Instead of traditional impression material, this creates a precise digital model of your teeth.

2. Digital design

The new restoration is designed on the virtual model.

In doing so, we take neighbouring teeth, contact points, shape and bite into account.

3. Production in our practice

The finished design is then milled from a carefully selected ceramic block.

Our CEREC PrimeMill precisely carves the planned restoration out of the material.

4. Individual finishing

The restoration is checked and, depending on the material and situation, can be further characterised, polished or given a final ceramic finish.

5. Fitting

After checking the fit, contact points, bite and aesthetics, the restoration is bonded in place.

Why CEREC?

For suitable treatments, this can eliminate the traditional temporary stage. Many restorations can be completed within a single appointment.

Not every restoration should necessarily be made on the same day, however. In complex aesthetic or technical situations, a different approach may be the wiser choice.

For us, digital does not mean faster at any cost – it means efficient whenever it makes medical sense and delivers the right quality.
