A check-up comes before whitening

Before we whiten teeth, we assess your teeth and gums.

Tooth decay, leaking restorations or other findings requiring treatment should be dealt with first, where necessary.

Existing crowns, veneers and fillings also have to be taken into account: unlike natural tooth structure, they do not change colour during whitening.

How does whitening work?

Whitening agents release reactive oxygen compounds. These alter the colour-giving molecules within the tooth structure, so the tooth appears visibly brighter.

It is not simply a matter of painting a white colour onto the tooth.

How white will my teeth become?

The result depends on the starting shade and the type of discolouration, and cannot be predicted exactly for every patient.

Our goal is therefore not “maximum white”, but a bright, fresh tooth shade that suits your face.
