Not every misalignment of the teeth calls for traditional fixed braces.
With clear, removable plastic trays – known as aligners – many tooth movements can be carried out step by step.
How does it work?
First, the position of your teeth is captured digitally.
Based on this data, the planned tooth movements are calculated virtually. Instead of a single tray, you receive a series of different aligners.
Each tray differs slightly from the previous one and applies targeted forces to specific teeth.
Almost invisible – but not without your cooperation
The trays are transparent, which makes them far less noticeable in everyday life than many conventional orthodontic appliances.
However, they only work if they are worn consistently in line with the treatment plan.
They can be taken out for eating and for cleaning your teeth.
What can be treated with aligners?
Aligners can be used, for example, for certain cases of crowding, gaps or misaligned teeth.
Not every complex orthodontic situation, however, can be sensibly treated with aligners alone.
That is why every treatment begins with a thorough diagnostic assessment.
After the teeth have moved
Teeth naturally have a tendency to shift back after orthodontic treatment.
That is why retention – stabilising the result – is an integral part of our treatment concept.
